Jay Farrar
Guiding Son Volt through three albums and co-leading Uncle Tupelo for four albums, Jay Farrar has built a reputation as one of the most honest and distinctive modern singer-songwriters.
His solo debut, Sebastopol released in 2001 builds on the promise of his earlier work. Synthesizers, pianos, sitar-like guitars and rhythms that fall outside the standard 4/4 time are all employed to position his sound in a new setting. Photographed December 1st, 2001 at First Avenue in Minneapolis.
